Justin Bingham, VP of Business Development at MicroStem Inc will give a Perkin Elmer sponsored talk:
Wed, Jan 25, 2012
6:00 to 7:30 pm
Location: Janssen Research and Development, a Johnson & Johnson company
3210 Merryfield Row, San Diego, CA 92121
Recapitulate, interrogate, and understand cellular microenvironments for in vitro cell growth, differentiation, and screening of stem cells and primary cells.
Presenter: Justin Bingham, MicroStem, Inc.
Within the human body, stem cells reside within certain ‘niches’ or microenvironments critical for their controlled self-renewal and differentiation into tissue-specific cells. Elucidating appropriate conditions that replicate these environments in-vitro can involve complex and costly screening of the many different components that constitute a cell microenvironment.
MicroStem, Inc. (San Diego, Ca.) has developed a proprietary technology that arrays thousands of fully defined microscopic environments in vitro for cell based screening applications. The company offers a suite of products and custom services that enable cellular manipulation of stem cells and primary cells on these unique microenvironments. Justin Bingham, VP of Business Development, MicroStem, Inc will introduce the MicroMatrix™ extra cellular matrix array technology and discuss its compatibilities with high content imaging systems. Examples will include methods for deciphering complex stem cell environments and primary cell screening applications.
